Fondclubje
Wij hebben binnen onze vereniging een onderling “Vrienden Fondclubje”. Hiermee maken we verschillende potjes zoals bijvoorbeeld het poultje over 5 aangewezen vluchten.
Ons clubje bestaat uit de volgende liefhebbers: Wim van Houten, Peter Ruijten, Cees Galjé, Coos van Houten, Alex van den Beld, Gertjan van Houten, Bertrik Murk, Mies de Groot, Sven van Houten en wij zelf natuurlijk.
Ieder jaar ruilen we, door middel van om de beurt een dichtgevouwen naambriefje te trekken, onderling een jonge duif die dan op Agen ZLU tegen elkaar strijden voor de eerste plaats van ons clubje.
Tevens hebben we ook mooie prijzen te vervliegen zoals de Barcelona-bokaal, de Lourdes-bokaal en ter nagedachtenis aan oud lid Cees, de Cees van Mourik-bokaal.
Tijdens het winterseizoen gaan we altijd samen met de partners lekker een hapje eten in Nieuwegein bij Jack’s Grillhouse. Jack’s is gezellig, goed eten en heeft een ongedwongen sfeer. Dus perfect voor ons clubje. Tijdens deze avond doen we dan ook de prijsuitreikingen en maken we weer nieuwe koppels en plannen voor het komende seizoen.

En om al vast een kleine impressie te geven. Ondanks het rare seizoen vanwege de Corona had ons clubje op Barcelona 2020 25 duiven in de strijd en maar liefst 64% hiervan stond op de nationale uitslag.
Ons clubje speelde dit jaar;
75, 153, 161, 184, 235, 259, 485, 486, 552, 577, 641, 673, 812, 834, 912 en 1082 tegen 4477 duiven.+
Leden van het fondclubje
Wim & Sven van Houten
Wim van Houten en zoon Sven spelen sinds een aantal jaar thuis onder de naam van Sven. Ja, de Wim van Houten die samen met Broer Martien in 2009 de 1e internationaal Barcelona won met hun “Nellie”.
Peter Ruijten
Peter Ruijten, van 30-12-1964, getrouwd en 2 kinderen, is sinds 2004 lid van onze vereniging. Hij heeft een pittige baan als supervisor & inkoper bij een farmaceutisch laboratorium in Utrecht.
Coos van Houten
Coos is de oudste van de broers Van Houten. Hij is getrouwd met Syl en heeft 1 dochter en 2 zonen. Inmiddels is hij ook al een hele trotse opa. Als jong knapie was Coos al druk in de weer met alles wat vliegt. Thuis hadden ze al veel vogeltjes en Pa en Coos probeerden ook nog wel eens een vinkje op puttertje te vangen. Toen Coos in 1964 met postduiven wilde gaan vliegen met een opvanger uit Rotterdam moest Pa ook gedwongen lid worden. Coos werd direct jeugdkampioen met zijn Rotterdam -duifje en de Van Houten-dynastie was geboren.
Cees Galjé
Officieel is Cees met pensioen. Maar ondanks dat is hij een druk bezet man. Als hobby zit hij nog vaak in het buitenland voor enkele koffie en theefabrieken.
Verder is Cees ook lang voorzitter geweest in onze vereniging en is hij al meer dan 25 jaar voorzitter Oranjevereniging in IJsselstein.
Door deze toch wel drukke bezetting is de verzorging van de duiven van Cees niet altijd even regelmatig.
Gelukkig nemen vrienden, en natuurlijk zijn vrouw Tilly, de verzorging van de duiven over als hij er weer eens niet is.
Cees woont al ruim 40 jaar in IJsselstein en heeft daarvan al weer een redelijk tijd postduiven.
Ongeveer 30 jaar geleden had Cees een volière en daar zat een Franse duif met een gebroken pootje bovenop. En natuurlijk vond dochter Anouk dat heel zielig. Papa maakte een hokje en Anouk verzorgde het beestje. Daarna had Anouk de smaak te goed pakken en omdat Cees als kleine jongen zelf ook als eens duiven had gehouden besloten ze samen lid te worden van de Groene Olijftak.
Bertrik Murk
Bertrik vliegt samen met zijn vader Wim onder de naam W.H. Murk en zoon. De hokken staan dan wel bij Bertrik in de tuin maar Wim is toch ook dagelijks op de hokken te vinden voor de verzorging van de duiven.
Alex van den Beld
Alex, van 21-05-1956), is voorman bij de plantsoenendienst in ons eigen IJsselstein. Hij is getrouwd met een heuse Française, Sabine, zijn steun en toeverlaat. Samen hebben ze 2 kinderen, Matthieu en Isabelle.
Vroeger behaalde Alex als jonge man al eens een bondsmedaille met zijn kanaries die hij ongeveer 13 jaar heeft gekweekt. Later kwamen er de konijnen en daarna zat hij weer regelmatig in de prijzen, hij werd zelfs kampioen, met zijn Dubbel Gezoomde Barnevelders. Kortom Alex heeft eigenlijk zijn hele leven al dieren gehad.
Martien van Houten
Martien van Houten, wie kent hem niet. Na enkele jaren afwezigheid is hij op zijn huidige adres volop bezig met de duivensport. Maar nu wel geheel op eigen benen en met nieuwe hokken.
Van Wout van de Hoek uit Putten heeft hij een groot aantal jongen gekregen en samen met het eigen oude Van Houtensoort gaat hij weer proberen aan de top te komen.
Daarnaast heeft hij van enkele bekende liefhebbers nog wat duiven gekregen dus de kwaliteit is al weer volop aanwezig.
Martien werd wel “De Krabber” genoemd. Hij was altijd een heel belangrijke factor in de Combinatie WiMa van Houten. Waar broer Wim meer als de man van de kennis van duiven te boek stond was Martien echter elke dag (soms zelfs van zonsopkomst tot zonsondergang) op “het Landje” te vinden.
Gertjan
Gertjan heeft natuurlijk net als de rest van de broers de duivensport met de paplepel mee gekregen.
Maar goed, een klein stukje geschiedenis. Broer Coos en pa hadden al lang duiven toen ene Jo van Gijn, een duivenmelker uit de buurt ziek werd. Jo had zijn duiven op een landje zitten en Gertjan, broer Wim en vriend Stewart Roodenburg besloten hem te helpen. Zo begonnen deze 3″, toen nog snotneuzen, aan hun duivencarrière.
Mies de Groot
